GLOBAL FISHERY FORUM &
SEAFOOD EXPO RUSSIA

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin

I welcome the participants and guests of the IX Global Fishery Forum.

Over the past years, your regular meetings have earned high professional and expert authority, have become firmly established in the industry calendar, and have brought together the business community, specialists from relevant agencies and enterprises, and scientists around their objectives.

I note that more than 300 companies from dozens of countries around the world are taking part in this year's forum. Such broad representation allows for a comprehensive discussion of current issues in the development of the fishing industry, the rational exploitation of the resources of the World Ocean, and the provision of global food security.

I am confident that the sessions, round tables, seminars and other events of the forum's rich business program, including the traditional Seafood Expo Russia, will be held successfully and will serve to strengthen international cooperation and establish new mutually beneficial contacts.

I wish you fruitful work and all the best.

Ilya Vasilyevich Shestakov

Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to welcome the participants of the IX Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia!

Over the years, the event has become one of the key platforms for open industry dialogue between government and business, the scientific community and producers. Seafood Expo Russia is a major international congress and exhibition event for the national fisheries sector, bringing together the industry’s key achievements — from wild fisheries and aquaculture to a wide range of seafood products.

Today, we are witnessing changes in global trade, shifts in the geography of demand, and the emergence of new logistics routes and partnerships. At the same time, new opportunities are opening up to create higher-value products from aquatic biological resources, introduce advanced technologies in fisheries and aquaculture, and apply digital solutions for stock monitoring and assessment.

Against this backdrop, it is important to discuss not only the current state of the fisheries sector, but also how the conditions in which it operates are changing. Climate processes, changes in the resource base, and logistics issues are affecting the situation in individual species and areas of activity. At the same time, aquaculture is growing, public interest in fish is increasing, and sustainable demand for fish products is taking shape. Our shared task is to make the most of the opportunities that are emerging, respond to new challenges, and ensure that consumers have access to high-quality products at affordable prices.

The Forum’s key outcome should be concrete solutions in the industry’s priority areas. We will need to identify priorities in technological development and human resources, the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture, and improving the efficiency of production and processing.

I wish all participants meaningful discussions and productive work!
