Seafood Expo Global to help Russian Fish Export
28/12/2021

The largest European exhibition of the fish industry Seafood Expo Global will be held after a two-years break on April 26-28, 2022. Leading Russian fishing companies are already preparing to show their achievements within Russian joint stand which is traditionally organized by Expo Solutions Group.

The Russian fishery industry has been successfully solving developmental challenges and making the transition from the raw material model of fisheries to the production of ready-to-eat products with high added value. Thus, new modern ships for the fishing fleet and plants for coastal processing are being built. But except these measures, to support sustainable development the fishery complex also needs to diversify the export structure. The concentration of deliveries only on one of the possible export directions threatens the stability of sales and fishery as a whole. This tendency was clearly demonstrated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic when shipping in the ports of the largest importers of Russian fish and seafood was impossible.

Russian joint stand at Seafood Expo Global will clearly demonstrate an increase in the export share of fillets, finished products and other highly profitable products instead of delivery of raw materials for further processing. Among the objectives of the exposition, not only to show such products to foreign consumers, but also help with its distribution and promotion in foreign markets. The organizers of Russian joint stand plans to make a business program event with participation of Russian exhibitors aimed at increasing Russian fish and seafood export into foreign markets.

The supply of fish products to European markets requires several procedures including confirmation of certification of fish, for example, by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Such business event will include meetings of Russian exhibitors with buyers of such products. Preparing such negotiations, the organizers take into consideration the suppliers’ assortment, their interests and objectives. European retail chains will be represented by “Fish and Seafood” category managers.

"Russia is being waited for at Seafood Expo Global. We have good location together with the industry leading countries: next to us are China, USA, Norway and other largest players. It is our interest to present Russia properly and find new markets for domestic companies. And exhibitors know it, the interest from the Russian fishery industry is very high. Our team do its best for the effective participation of exhibitors: we provide very serious visa support and helping with entry permits and work with European trading networks and certifying organizations, " commented the participation of Russian companies Ivan Fetisov, CEO of Expo Solutions Group.

In 2019, the event brought together over 29,000 buyers and suppliers from all over the world and visitors from 155 countries. There were more than 74 national and regional pavilions with 1,946 exhibiting companies from 88 countries showcased. In 2022, the exhibition will take place on April 26-28 and will be held for the first time at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via venue. The Russian joint stand will occupy 1100 square meters.
