Saint Petersburg will host the main event of the fishing industry - Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia on September 17-19. The event is being held for the seventh time and it will once again showcase topics related to the current state of fishing, processing, aquaculture, shipbuilding, logistics, and other areas directly or indirectly linked to the functioning and development of the industry.
Structure and new participants of the exhibition
The event continues to grow annually. In 2023, the forum and expo were attended by 17,872 specialists from 85 regions of Russia and 75 foreign countries, with more than 350 companies presenting their products and services. This year, organizers expect to gather even bigger audience of attendees and exhibitors—over 400 enterprises from Russia, China, India, Vietnam, South Korea, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have already confirmed their participation.
This time Seafood Expo Russia will follow an updated structure: each pavilion will combine exhibitors from the fishing and product sections with companies representing the industry infrastructure. This will create a more dynamic exhibition space and improve communication among all participants and visitors.
The international segment will also expand. The development of bilateral relations and the successful experience of exhibitors and business missions last year have elevated the participation of companies from China and India. The combined Indian exposition will be presented at the MPEDA stand, an agency under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India. The exhibition will feature new participants from China, including the Liao Yu Group Co. and members of the China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA) with their joint stand covering over 150 sq m.
The rapid growth of the shipbuilding and fishing equipment sectors made it possible for organizers to launch a new special exposition of shipbuilding, ship repair and port infrastructure* Ship Tech Global. It will offer participants proven approaches to establishing business connections between customers of new fishing vessels and suppliers of a full range of equipment and services needed for successful implementation of industry projects. The exposition will feature regular participants of Seafood Expo Russia, as well as new companies from Russia, China, Turkey, and other countries, including those who had not previously engage in the fishing industry. The exposition will be held within Seafood Expo Russia, and its participants will be marked with a special icon on the exhibition plan and road map.
Business program: technologies as part of the innovative development
The exhibition will be complemented by a well-balanced and practice-oriented business program, addressing the needs of all sectors of the fishing industry. The main focus of the forum and exhibition is providing fishery industry with the pivotal technologies in order to assure its effective development and competitiveness. The key event of the business program is plenary session “Fishery in the age of innovation. Technologies of the future”. Among participants are Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Patrushev, Head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov, President of the All-Russian Association of Fisheries Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Exporters” (VARPE) German Zverev, and other key representatives of Russian and international industries. They will discuss various topics, including innovations and its implementation practices in Russia and overseas, along with balancing dynamics between achievement of technological sovereignty and development of partnerships with friendly countries.
These topics along with aquaculture, logistics, export, consumption, sales and other related issues will be covered in special business events of the forum and exhibition. The international segment will be promoted within bilateral business sessions with China, India, and Saudi Arabia, where participants will not only discuss increasing cargo turnover but also focus on joint development of shipbuilding and other areas.
The International Science and Education Forum for Fishery Complex “FISHERY SKILLS” and “FishCorr” ceremony will also be held accordingly.
Special Projects
For the first time this year, a number of business events accompanying the Seafood Expo Russia will be held directly in the exhibition pavilion. Two additional conference zones will provide participants with new opportunities to present their company and services to a wide audience.
Separate business events will feature topics related to the special exposition of shipbuilding, ship repair, equipment and port infrastructure* Ship Tech Global. By discussing industry-related pressing issues, industry professionals will be able to find mutually beneficial solutions faster and establish effective cooperation The discussions will be held by managers and business owners as well as technical specialists, who are involved in fleet design, construction and equipping and influence purchase decisions of equipment and services.
The additional business format has been created to address both shipbuilding issues and those related to the transportation of fish and seafood. Discussions on temperature-sensitive logistics will be complemented by the International Conference Cold Chain Eurasia, which will take place on September 19 at the Expoforum EC. This year, the conference will be held for the second time and once again bring together representatives of supply chain that transport temperature-sensitive goods through-out the territory of Russia, China, India, Iran, EAEU etc.
VII Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia 2024 are organized by the Federal Agency for Fisheries with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
