The VII Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo had its grand opening in Saint Petersburg. The first day was marked by a vibrant exposition, a rich business program, and the inimitable large-scale gathering of the fishing industry.
Export, logistics, and international cooperation
The business program began with the roundtable "Developing and supporting of fishery product exports" organized by the Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries in collaboration with the Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA). The roundtable started with the speech from association's president, Alexey Osintsev. Stanislav Aksenov, a board member of Russian Fishing Company and Russian Crab Group of Companies, assessed the opportunities for developing fish product exports to China. This topic was further explored during the Russian-Chinese business session.
Besides China, the forum and exhibition’s business agenda covered other promising export directions, with bilateral sessions held with Saudi Arabia and India. Additionally, leaders of Venezuela's fisheries gave a presentation on the country’s fishing and aquaculture sector.
The logistics of fresh and chilled fish products in export and domestic air transportation were discussed at an open meeting with the Volga-Dnepr airline.
Ship Tech Global
The special exposition Ship Tech Global was complemented by a business program comprised of three roundtables:

Additionally, specialists from Skipatech shared their experience in designing and building ships at Chinese shipyards using advanced international projects.
Aquaculture and other ways to unleash the industry potential
During a research-to-practice seminar experts, scientists and business representatives discussed risks and reasonable solutions in organizing aquaculture enterprises.
Opportunities to increase the industry’s efficiency were also examined at the roundtable "Seaweed: what’s getting in the way of great potential”.
In addition, the day marked the start of III International Science and Education Forum for the Fishery Complex.
