Today, we are witnessing growing global demand for fish and seafood, as well as strengthening international cooperation in scientific research and the reproduction of aquatic biological resources. A vivid example is the Great African Expedition – the largest international scientific project aimed at supporting fisheries in the countries of the continent. We share a common goal: to ensure global food security while preserving fish stocks for future generations.
The central theme of 2025 is fish consumption. It carries important social significance, emphasizing the benefits of fish and seafood for human health. This topic will be in focus at the plenary session “Global Fish Consumption: Growth Drivers, Production Opportunities.”
I am confident that the event will provide an opportunity to discuss the most pressing issues, including the modernization of fisheries and the economic efficiency of the industry, and to develop proposals for technological and human resource support, as well as for the sustainable development of fishery and aquaculture.
I wish you productive discussions, valuable business contacts, and successful implementation of both current and future projects!
